Star Trek Online in first quarter

Star Trek Online is a massively multiplayer role-playing game that takes place

in the universe from Star Trek series. Here's the role of captain of a

spaceship, and must travel on an adventure in space.

The game takes place in 2409, and is therefore not locked to a specific TV show

or movie. Instead, you will experience a fresh world based on the universe you

already know from TV screens.

Now Craig Zinkievich, producer at developer Cryptic Studios, has confirmed that

Star Trek Online will be launched during the first quarter of 2010. In addition,

he has good news to those who can not wait that long:

- A closed beta is just around the corner. I think it's a press release about it

in a couple of days.

Thus, it is not long until you can play romskipskaptein and courageous journey

to where no one has gone before you.

Cryptic Studios is known for the online superhero game City of Heroes and City

of Villains, and also worked with an unsuccessful game project based on the

Marvel Comic Book heroes. Currently, the pursuits of new massive online games,

and now they have got a new manager, too.

Superhero Action in Champions Online.

According to the website Gamesindustry.biz have Atari browsing the wallet and

bought Crypric for about $ 27 million. Also there were promised a sizeable bonus

of 20 million if Cryptic next projects serve a given sum, but how large this sum

must be not disclosed.

The current project is the online game Star Trek Online, Champions Online.

Champions Online will be about a topic Cryptic has experience with, namely the

Super Heroes. It will be released once in 2009, and any bonus is paid in August

2010.

Star Trek Online is based on the popular science fiction series, and will be

released in 2010. Sweeps it into enough money for Atari Cryptic can look forward

to the bonus in May 2011.

Cryptic also has a third project under development, but nothing has been

announced for this yet. Whatever it is it will be completed during 2011.

Infogrames owns Atari, and Infogrames boss David Gardner has praise for how cost

effective Cryptic is:

- I am impressed with the tools and technology Cryptic have developed for

reducing the cost of making massive online games. To build huge new worlds and

exciting interaction opportunities often require many employees, but Cryptic has

managed to halve the average cost of production using their tools, "says

Gardner.
